In the book Feed M.T. Anderson displays many new age ideas that we see ourselves coming amongst in the years to come. For example: colonizing the moon. Or oxygen running out and we must live with a new supply of artificial life. But the most controversial yet most interesting concept he writes about is The Feed. A brain implanted device that speaks to you through your mind. Where you are marketed certain store items based on the type of things you are interested in. Anderson admits that when he was younger that he felt as the people in this book did, pressured to buy certain items that everyone else is buying( Author Website). Anderson's goal was to speak to teens that all now have these smartphones. Since we are most targeted by the advertisements and want to be in with whatever is currently trending. As Jordan's have been popular or Nike's compared to lowers brands that are maybe not as fancy-like or 'fashionable' much like Asics or Merrell. People still buy them of course, but they are not seen as exciting or as much as it is wearing the cool new shoes that everyone who doesn't have them wants. Anderson though really touches base on a growing reality and he wanted to get these points across to the young people that will also be building the future. A future that we will all be apart of. One hopefully without the Feed.
